Bible Study Ideas

woman reading the Bible
Today I’d like to share some things I’ve come across that help you dig into the scriptures while getting a bird’s eye view of the scriptures.

♠First, Faith demonstrates what she calls Bible Book Mapping. Not verse mapping; book mapping. It’s creating a visual overview of a book of the Bible for yourself. (video, 10 minutes)

♠Next, Matthew talks about outlining every book of the Bible. This is obviously a long-term project, but it gives you a high level view of every book — and requires you to read every book. (video, 14 minutes)

♠Speaking of outlines, the venerable Peter Krol explains two different ways to outline a Bible passage. Different styles for different purposes, though he thinks the second one is going to help you understand the passage better.

♠Finally, Josh demonstrates a way to take helpful notes in your Bible by outlining (yes, more outlining), defining, commenting, and linking.
