It's only a little sin
I'm currently reading Precious Remedies Against Satan's Devices by Thomas Brooks (no relation that I'm aware of). One of Satan's devices, he says, is to tell us that it's only a little sin. Brooks responds with this:

This reminds me of what I was reading in Joshua last night. God told Israel to go into Canaan and basically kill everyone. So they went in and killed everyone...except a town here, some people there. And in the blink of an eye, they were marrying foreigners and worshiping foreign gods. But it was just a little sin...

You've summed up Joshua pretty well -- and explained that whole "kill the Canaanites" thing that bothers so many people. You ought to stretch that out into a post on your blog :)
